California Roaming: An Abstract Art Exhibition in San Francisco You Can’t Miss
Experience the Beauty of Northern California Through Abstract Art
Think Round Fine Arts is thrilled to announce its latest exhibition, CALIFORNIA ROAMING: Abstract Nature Paintings by Marc Ellen Hamel. This stunning showcase invites art lovers, nature enthusiasts, and anyone seeking inspiration to explore Northern California’s natural beauty through a collection of vibrant, abstract works.
About the Exhibit
Running from February 4 through March 28, 2025, CALIFORNIA ROAMING transforms the memories of meadows, forests, distant horizons, and colorful fields into dynamic abstract paintings. These works celebrate the spirit of nature and its power to nurture the human soul.
The exhibit is enhanced by the inclusion of poignant graphite works by Heidi Hardin, Executive Director of Think Round, Inc. Hardin’s pieces delve into themes of resilience, transformation, and the human journey. Together, Hamel and Hardin’s works offer a multifaceted exploration of storytelling through art.
Reception and Artist Talk
Don’t miss the Opening Reception on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM. At 5 PM, Marc Ellen Hamel will deliver an Artist Talk, offering a behind-the-scenes look at her process, inspiration, and the connection between her work and the landscapes she loves. This is a unique opportunity to engage with the artist and gain a deeper understanding of the stories behind her vibrant abstractions.
Meet the Artist: Marc Ellen Hamel
Marc Ellen Hamel’s paintings are rooted in the landscapes of Northern California, brought to life through intuitive brushstrokes and bold color palettes. Working from her studio at the Hunters Point Shipyard in San Francisco, Hamel layers memory and imagination to create works that are as much about the process of discovery as the final composition. “Walking through the land has nurtured me,” Hamel shares. “When I’m back in the studio, I apply colors and brushstrokes intuitively, letting memories resurface to guide the work.”
Originally from Seattle, Hamel refined her craft through formal study at the University of Washington, workshops, and independent exploration. Her work speaks to the interplay of past experiences, present moments, and future possibilities, offering reflections that resonate deeply with viewers.
