The Paradise Project - new exhibition

On October 12th, Think Round Inc will exhibit the latest completed works as part of the Paradise Project. Think Round has previously exhibited the portraits of Jews, Christians, Muslims, Hindus & Sikhs. This new exhibit, entitled First Families/Family First (Indigenous) will show 40 completed portraits of two Indigenous families from North and South America.

 About the Paradise Project

The finished Paradise Project will be a vast collection of 546 portraits of 28 families practicing 10 major world religions. This will cover 150 years of generational family history and feature families from all over the globe. The portraits are of different family members in different locations and life stages, showing the people in their familial roles as they change over time. You can read more about the Paradise Project and see the completed works on Think Round’s website: Paradise Project - 7 Installations Think Round — Think Round, Inc. Home Page

 The creation process

Each piece in the project is based on photos submitted by the family themselves. Heidi takes these source images to create her inspiration sketches and final painted pieces. In her studio she has many works of progress at different stages of development hung around the walls, often working on multiple different paintings at one time and simultaneously working on the unique mounts. The images give a sneak peak into her studio as she worked on the pieces for the upcoming exhibition.

Heidi has given considerable thought to the visitor experience for the project, including how the pieces will be grouped and color-coded in their bespoke mounts and the pairing with original music by long-time collaborator Jonathan Sacks.

-The upcoming Exhibition will feature 40 new portraits that have not previously been exhibited - save the date and we look forward to seeing you there.
